Bachelor's Degree in Instructional/Educational Technology or related field and four years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Salary commensurate with experience. Grade EG. Expected starting range $55,000 - $60,000.

Description

Manager of Instructional Technologies This position serves as part of the University of Louisville's Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning's management team. This position provides leadership for and management of the University of Louisville's Blackboard content management system operations. The position leads a team of professional and student staff in maintaining, developing and troubleshooting the University's Blackboard application and continually improving support for end users. The University of Louisville's Blackboard installation is continually expanding and evolving to include new services, and this position will provide guidance and leadership for that ongoing growth. The position collaborates and coordinates with Information Technology to ensure consistent quality and continuity of services. The position works closely with a wide range of University constituencies to develop and encourage Blackboard usage and best practices. This position serves as the Delphi Center liaison to the Health Sciences Center and takes the lead in providing instructional design services and training for that campus. This position is also responsible for managing internal technology support for the Delphi Center, including desktop computers, hosted servers, multimedia equipment and classroom/training facilities, and is responsible for leading the investigation of new instructional hardware, software and processes that can benefit the instructional process at the University. The position reports to the Associate Director of the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning.

Qualifications:

A Master's Degree is preferred. Experience working with a content management system, preferably Blackboard, in an academic setting. Demonstrated project management experience and skills is required. Demonstrated supervision of professional staff is required. Proven record of customer support and service as well as a pro-active customer service philosophy is also required. Experience with instructional design principles and applications, and training end users is essential. Experience with server management, multimedia production, SQL, Java, Flash and HTML are desirable.
